Why Our Hiring Takes Time (And That’s a Good Thing)

At TravClan, we understand that waiting for updates on job applications can be stressful. We receive hundreds of applications for every open position—sometimes as many as 500. Yet, in the end, only one candidate is selected. This high volume of interest means our recruitment process needs to be as thorough and thoughtful as possible, ensuring we identify the best possible fit for each role.

The Reason Behind Multiple Rounds of Interviews

You might wonder why we have several rounds in our hiring process. It’s simple: we owe it to every applicant to be fair and thorough. Multiple rounds allow us to evaluate each candidate holistically. As much as we want to move quickly, making the right decision takes time.

At every step, we are assessing different qualities. Early stages might focus on skills and knowledge, while later interviews are geared towards understanding culture fit, emotional intelligence, and alignment with TravClan’s values. Each round serves a unique purpose, helping us identify candidates who are not only qualified but also a great fit for our team and the work environment.

Why the Process Might Take Time

One common question we get is, “Why does it take so long?” There are a few reasons for this:

  • High Application Volume: As mentioned, we get a significant number of applications for each open role. This means we need time to give each application the attention it deserves. Sorting through resumes, conducting aptitude tests, and organizing group discussions takes time to ensure fairness.

  • Availability of Interviewers: Most of our candidates go through two or three rounds of interviews, and each of these rounds is often led by different team members. Their availability is crucial for scheduling interviews. As much as we would like to move faster, coordinating the schedules of interviewers and candidates can take time.

  • Founder’s Involvement: For certain positions, our founder is directly involved in the final rounds of interviews. With the founder frequently traveling or managing various responsibilities, this can cause delays. However, this is because we are committed to maintaining high standards in our hiring process and want the best input from leadership.

How We Strive to Make the Process Transparent

We understand that waiting can be frustrating, so we’ve designed our process to keep candidates informed. You can expect updates at every stage, whether it’s an acknowledgment email after your application or clear communication during each round of interviews. We also aim to manage expectations, letting candidates know up front that the hiring process can take a few weeks.

By taking this time, we ensure that every step is done right, both for us and for you. After all, a successful hire isn’t just about qualifications—it’s about finding someone who will thrive in our culture and grow with us. We want to be sure we’re making the best decisions not only for TravClan but also for each individual who joins our team.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to finding the right people who will shape the future of TravClan!
